Flowers are large single, to semi double deep cerise, excellent as a specimen or as a hedge.
Camellias require a slightly acid, well-drained soil. In heavy soils, plant camellias in a slightly raised bed and improve the soil with good organic material such as peat moss or compost.
Camellias may be pruned lightly to shape, or can be prunes quite heavily to rejuvenate an old bush. Fertilize moderately in spring with organic or slow release fertilizer, avoid lime. Mulching is beneficial.
